Hey there, I’m Hailey

The Girl Behind the Camera

Believe it or not I have a whole life outside of photography (who woulda thought).

If I am being transparent- the majority of my time, not behind the camera or editing, is spent attending college classes, doing homework, prepping for the LSAT or working as a Manager at Vans. I am a busy busy gal with big dreams as an aspiring attorney, so most of my time is spent focusing on academics.

Every now and then when I catch a little break I love to do all the Colorado-y things. You can catch me hiking, fishing, paddle boarding and enjoying the ever-changing weather around my neighborhood. I also have a love for adventure and travel, so I go on trips as often as I can (even if its within the state). You can also find me at all the different concerts or spending time with my friends and family doing whatever fun things we can.

How I Got my Start

It sounds a little cliche to say, but I have truly loved photography since I was just a little kid. I got my first camera for Christmas when I was in Fourth Grade and it started out simple- I would just take silly pictures of my pets and siblings but it slowly turned into something more.

When I was still in grade school my Step-Dad “hired” me to take photos of his softball team. I did some headshots for them and was there taking photos at practically every game. This is when I really started to get a passion for professional photography.

My first real gig was when a couple of my best friends hired me to do their Senior Photos. I really could not believe they chose me to do them over a professional and I’m so grateful they took a chance on me to this day (I love you Madi & Evie!).

After sharing their photos on instagram my business grew exponentially and next thing I knew I was booking 20+ Seniors each year.

Getting into the Wedding Business

I honestly have my Aunt Rhonda to thank for this, she is a super talented wedding photographer who took me under her wing.

I had someone reach out to have me photograph their wedding when I was still in High School, and trust me I was excited but MAN I was nervous. I reached out to Rhonda and she had me second shoot a few weddings with her to learn the process and get some experience, in real life.

Since then I have solo shot quite a few weddings and I work as her second shooter on any weddings that she needs or wants me at.

I am primarily a self-taught photographer, but Rhonda has also taught me so much and has given me practical experience that has grown my business.

Someone who Really Cares

Outside of photography I am someone who is really, deeply involved in my community. I am currently a college student at MSU Denver and I am involved in multiple organizations there including the Urban Leadership Program and Student Government. I also do quite a bit of volunteer work, both on and off campus.

I also pride myself on the fact that I am a loving older sister to some really spectacular humans. I have learned so much from them and they have learned a lot from me (at least a girl can hope).

The same care and dedication that I show in these areas is something that I bring into my photography as well. I am an innate leader and a true empath. I care oh so much about every client that I work with and I want every single person to leave their session happy.

Fun Facts

  • I bet you could have guessed this one based on my website and outfits alone. But I am a neutral girly. My favorite color is actually brown (which I know is a hot take).
